Despite the angst and heavy hearts from September 2001's unthinkable events and the continuing terror attacks in Israel, we find that life goes on. We have tried to overcome despair and find optimism as we pursue everyday tasks. One of the most positive elements in creating that optimism is your response to our annual Foster Child appeal.
In the past, your dollars helped us continue the nurturing of a young male student at Gan Yavne, a female student at Neve Hanna in Israel and sufficient funds to underwrite a young child for the summer program at Samuel Field Y. The child at the Y enjoyed the enrichment of community-based trips, the thrill of Maccabia days and the opportunity to make and develop meaningful relationships with adults and peers. In addition your contribution enabled a young, recently separated, unemployed woman feel the comfort of a community that cares about her and her children. You can all applaud your efforts.
Today's economic turndown has certainly affected many of our Temple members. Nevertheless, we ask that you help us continue the noble work our Sisterhood started so many decades ago and contribute to this year's drive. Knowing what your donations accomplish should encourage you to provide even more funds to help those less fortunate than the members of our LNJC congregation.
The children thank you for caring. Your
contribution can be sent to Sisterhood-LNJC and mark the bottom of the
check Foster Child Program.
