June 9, 2002 Chumash Dedication
Clergy representing the main three branches of Judaism were present, at the dedication ceremony for the new Chumashim.

Three new editions of the Chumash have
been purchased to supplement the Hertz edition which has been in use for
decades.
The New editions are; The Conservative movement's new "Eitz Hayim Chumash", The
Orthodox "Art Scroll" Stone Edition Chumash, and from the Reform movement's, "The Torah". These three new editions will provide our worshipers with a variety of commentaries representing a broad spectrum of Jewish thought.
Selected shots from the May 5, 2002 Salute to Israel Parade in Manhattan.

May 5,2002 was Israel Solidarity Day at the Salute to Israel Parade.
LNJC obtained an "Official Spectator Position" for our members to gather
along the parade route at Fifth Avenue at 63rd Street.
Our banner was unfurled and draped along the railing of the parade
route and a throng of more than 50 of our members were on hand to cheer the
matchers. and admire the floats as they passed our location.
The day was a beautiful one, both in terms of weather and spirit.
Plans are already beginning to take shape for next year when , God willing,
we will march in the parade with a group of adults and children which will
be a multiple of those we had on hand this year. All those interested in
helping plan this event with signs, posters, flags, floats(?), and t-shirts,
please contact Marc Altheim through the Temple office.
