Professionally I am a computer programmer, and work as an independent consultant, specializing in computer networks and communications protocols for the financial industry.
I am a second generation member of Little Neck Jewish Center, My mother Betsy Budne-Finnel is also a board member and chairs the Bikur Cholim committee. My parents came to LNJC initially when I was just a small child, but had joined Temple Israel in Great Neck while their children were in religious school. Later after we, the kids, were finished with school, they rejoined the Little Neck family. So although I may have gone through the Great Neck schools system with some of your children, I did not share their religious education with them in Little Neck. I personally became active in synagogue life, while saying Kaddish, after the death of my father Thomas Budne in 1987.
Since that time I have been on the board of LNJC serving at times on the ritual, nominating, and other committees for the past 12 years. Since 1995 I have also served as the recording secretary for the synagogue. More recently, for the last two years, I have created and have maintained the web site for Little Neck Jewish Center, www.lnjc.org.
Phyllis and I are regular worshipers at shabbat services. Please feel free
to introduce yourselves when you see us at a kiddish!
