Dear Parents,

First, I want to thank all of you for welcoming me into your family. As a parent of two young children, I believe it is important to instill in our children what it means to be a Jew. The fact that you send your child to Little Neck Jewish Center's Hebrew School demonstrates that you want your child to have the foundation needed to be a vital member of the Jewish community.

At LNJC we will provide your children an education that will help them to be contributing members of the Jewish community. We will:

• Teach them to be able to read, write, and speak Hebrew
• Assist them in interpreting the laws and stories of the Torah
• Guide them through the prayers so that they can actively participate in services,
• Give them an understanding of the history of the Jewish people and Israel
• Educate them about the Holocaust and what we can do to ensure it never happens again.

As parents it is important that you continue the learning process at home. Just like you do with their public school education, we ask that you assist your children with religious school work as well. Ask what they did in Hebrew school today, sit with them when they do the homework, have them read to you in Hebrew, and discuss with them the wonderful holidays that we observe.

Please also join your child and attend school and temple functions and services. Make the Little Neck Jewish Center and Hebrew School apart of your family!

I am looking forward to working with your children and providing them with a community where they can mature into responsible and contributing members of the Jewish family.
